Beany citrus zucchini {vegan MOFO}

Today’s Vegan Mofo theme is pretty evil, because three things is ridiculously restrictive when there’s such a bounty of food to tempt a perpetually nibbly Marfigs. Falafel + pita crouton salad

The other day I was chatting with a friend and we got around to talking about what she usually eats, since she doesn’t cook much and has a super busy lifestyle in a cat shelter. I’m usually quite flummoxed in such situations because cooking is the only way I eat, so when she said she mostly chowed on salads that were pumped up with things like beans and corn I was at ease again, because that’s the best kind of salad there is: filling and stuffed with goodness. Since I received a falafel mix box as part of a foodie xmas gift, I decided this was the perfect time to try out my version of a filling salad. Anniversary bbq gathering: nibbles and noms

Huzzah! Finally the big day is here and we have dusted off our anniversary bbq! It’s been two years ago today that we got hitched and I wanted to continue the tradition of having a bbq of sorts, not only to celebrate, but also to have one day a year that we turn on the oven and let whirr the food processor in order to feed everyone as a thank-you for all their hard work in keeping us sane and happy and for all their help. We really would be in tatters without our family, so I’m always excited to have an excuse to try and spoil them Marmo-style.

Fried spicy coleslaw salad with pumpkin-blitz balls and tahini orange drizzle

Ok, so I fully admit to not knowing what I was doing with this recipe, other than mushing stuff together, stacking other things, and generally frazzling about with ingredients. Worth it? I’d say so! 😀 This was just a quick lunch last week when there was precious little time to dedicate to something overly complicated, but it came out so delicious and tasty that I could easily doubled this…and eat it all myself! >:)

WIAW + Fried cabbage and apple salad with peanut pow sauce


Today is my day off again (hurrah!) and to celebrate I had all sorts of things lined up, including another WIAW. Man-thing is ill and in bed, and there isn’t much I can do to support him other than make sure he’s hydrated and fed, so that leaves a lot of moi-time. All the better for getting round to random and exciting outings!
