It’s finally here!! I can’t remember if I’ve been sneaky or not about this ebook (which is possibly another layer of ninja if I can hide even that from myself) but I’ve finished and it’s all yours for free and it’s 100% dedicated to my food mistress: chocolate. The other day I asked for suggestions for stuff to make, because my brain is kind of on auto-pilot at the moment. Enter sticky date pudding! Not quite traditional in looks, but it hits the spot and does so with natural ingredients and NO added processed sugar. I can’t say whether I enjoy the muffin-sized cakes or the sauce more, so let’s just say that together they work magic.
There’s officially a cold front here now, and we’ve already increased our electricity bill by $80 last month, even though it wasn’t “officially” winter, which is supposedly July, according to our defunct and corrupt national electricity provider. And so ends a glorious long weekend, much deserved and very much appreciated! This weekend I’ve managed to catch up on so many baking projects and testing recipes for my upcoming ebook which I can’t wait to share with everyone. 😀 There’s decadence abound, I assure you! Speaking of decadence, here’s a doozy: vegan sago pudding. It tastes like the real deal, as Man-thing has assured me, and is just a magical, filling and rich dessert. YUM!
V-day isn’t just about being in romantic relationships, thankfully. There is so much reason to love in the world every single day, but since humans love their holidays and themes, I may as well share some treats that can be whipped up to spoil friends (for a palentines day), family, or even just yourself (most legit of all).
This is a super easy pudding dish that can be whipped up depending on what you have lying around. Sometimes you just really don’t want to go on a mission to the shops to make the pudding of your dreams, or a fruit isn’t in season, and in those cases I’m all for the noble can. We try and be prudent with cans in our home because we (or maybe just me) like to make most things from scratch, whether it be pasta sauces or beans, and it also works out much cheaper. Lately I’ve been carb obsessed, or more specifically, in love with granola! I’ve been seeing amazing recipes all over the internet and have been scarfing down store-bought, but there’s really nothing better than setting aside a tiny amount of time to yield big and amazing results. Best of all is that granola can really go with anything. Cobbler? Muffins? Ice-cream? Oh yes.
