It’s finally here!! I can’t remember if I’ve been sneaky or not about this ebook (which is possibly another layer of ninja if I can hide even that from myself) but I’ve finished and it’s all yours for free and it’s 100% dedicated to my food mistress: chocolate. No matter how busy I get or how lazy, there’s always time in the day for a nibble on something chocolate-y. Sunday was all about comfort food, and hence the popcorn blizzard sundae parfait! 😀 Super easy to assemble and just uber tasty! I got to enjoy it all by myself because the brownies have veggies in them and the ice-cream is made with bananas, both of which send Man-thing running for the hills. Nevertheless I decided to wait until he took a nap before making this treat, just to minimize the gloating, because there was lots of it. Lots!
Ugh. It’s one of those days where my stomach is in knots, my head is pounding, and I’m waiting for all the balls to drop. I was already feeling like this yesterday when everything that could go wrong did, but luckily there were small glimmers of joy, such as cuddling with cats, a new gigantic flask from Man-thing (to keep me up to my gills in coffee during loadshedding), and these pops. I still haven’t gotten my hands on proper pop moulds, but I had enough of waiting for something that I’d been planning for ages, so this is my DIY version of deliciousness. Sadness, suck it!

Today’s treat is something I made thanks to a surplus of leftover meringue mix, and you’ll probably notice from my past few posts that I’ve discovered this to be a magical ingredient for create a smooth, rich ice-cream base. It might be all the sugar that gets me a little high, but I figure now and again one needs to dive face-first into something delicious! This is the deconstructed banoffee ice-cream bar version of the amazing looking pies I’ve seen online, because I much prefer freezer treats that will last a long while and be on hand for emergency dessert or snacks. I usually try be healthy in my food choices and recipes, but today I’m sharing something too divine to count calories over! Ice-cream floats were one of my favourite treats when I came to South Africa over the holidays and got to indulge in all the delicious and terribly sweet food. One of these magical concoctions was the delightful ice-cream float, usually atop something ridiculous like a green fizzy drink or so. I may have grown up in the meantime and gone off of soft drinks, but I still sometimes get a craving for the amazing mix of fizzy stuff with ice-cream on top, so here’s a vegan version that may just rock your socks off!
