WIAW: New Year’s Eve edition

At last!  A new year and all that :p We were rather insane this morning and went on a 5km fun run/walk – the moderate pace we felt would suit our lack of current fitness, not knowing that there were two gigantic hills to be climbed…twice. So, sore and very sorry for myself, but I have another medal at least and we did our bit for the day!

In case you missed it, here’s my round up for 2014 with top favourites from me, Man-thing, and you, lovely readers. All in all I think Man-thing and I are relieved that the holidays are over and didn’t go awry – in fact we rather enjoyed ourselves!favsred.jpgAnyhow, here’s WIAYesterday!

Breakfast: We are in super lazy, antisocial moods of late, and if it weren’t for Gatsby scratching at the door every day at 04h00 we would sleep in late too. Oh well, mango smoothie bowls with all bran hidden underneath are as good a reason as any to get out of bed! Also, Nespresso coffee FTW.bfastny.jpgTeatime: I was busy preparing lunch way in advance, so naturally I got hectic munchies. Carrot, coffee, a rye cracker with no-oil roasted eggplant slice, and some zucchini wrapped eggplants.

snacks.jpgLunch: A jumbo chickpea pancake split in two with mushroom tofu scramble and broccoli from my dad’s garden. I figure a broccoli head and stem would make a rather stunning bouquet!

luncnyDinner: cucumber maki and soup. We rented Cloud Atlas and Man-thing was meowing all the way there about wanting sushi, so this was our compromise. We took a super long afternoon nap so I woke up pretty ravenous!sushinyDessert: some vegan pudding and frozen banana slices sloshed with some Frangelico. Yum! There may or may not have been some quiche here around midnight, but I was pretty tired after continuing my NCIS marathon so no snaps!

puddingbowlSo all in all not perhaps the most exciting of all evenings compared to some, but we prefer the indoors, especially considering the major epic storms that keep hitting us.
