2014 recipe recap! Top picks


It’s that time of year where one has a moment to reflect on where you’ve been and where you want to go. I’ve decided that since everyone who breathes air surely likes lists and pictures, this post is going to give you just that: my top 5 recipes, Man-thing’s top 5 choices, and top 5 reader favourites.favsred.jpg

What a wild year! I’ve accomplished a lot that I set out to do and still didn’t get around to half of what I had planned on – such is life! I’m going to try and be a bit more prudent with my time and resources in 2015 since I think I spent a small fortune on ingredients this year, but it’s been worth it just to share my craziness and interact with so many awesome people.

These top picks are a way to take stock and to help plan for the way forward. If you’ve done a year-end round up, feel free to link in the comment section!

1) Raw buckwheat cinnamon rolls (GF)

2) Apricot peanut butter freezer treats (GF)

3) Cauliflower soup with crispy beetroot chips (GF)

Projects for next year:

  • Change my profile picture, since my MIL says it’s silly. There will still be a carrot somewhere though :p
  • Self-host a website – I spend so much time and energy I might as well dish out the dough as well.
  • Release my vegan South African e-book
  • Make my own bread bowls for bunny chow.
  • Host a waffle party with homemade ice-cream and sauces.
  • Use produce from our very own veggie garden.
  • Try my hand at WIAW vlogs – an excuse to show off Gatsby and Freyja in action whilst I natter in the background.
  • Get a Man-thing seal of approval seal designed :p

  1. If you hadn’t put the tuna on the list I’d have had to hack onto your blog and put it there myself. What an awesome collection of recipes! You’re been crazy productive. I really want to try the apricot freezer things and the caramel oat bars:D

    I don’t feel I’ve been blogging long enough to do a year’s round-up yet – that’d probably just be all the recipes on my blog, haha. So instead I’ve done a new year post with the recipes I used for Christmas (they were all from blogs!) together with my plans for the new year ^^

    Also, I reckon you with a broccoli bouquet would make a very sophisticated and dignified new profile picture. 🙂


    • Hee! 😀 This has been a ridiculous year – my output was somewhat unexpected, and I *still* feel like I’ve been lazy somehow. You’ve also been crazy busy – you could easily have a delicious ice-cream round up, because all those recipes just make me drool (in a good, non-drugged way).

      I agree about the broccoli bouquet – it would perhaps be just a little more sane than the current one 😀
