I’m participating again today in the Life in Pictures Link Up, since it was so much fun last time to gaze into people’s lives (in a way that wasn’t 100% obsessed with food :p). If you’re keen to join in for the next round head over here for more info.
ETA: The point of the link up is to talk less and let others guess what you’ve been up to, but I’m rather verbose :p
I usually make my first smoothie of the day at 05h30, hence the impossibility of taking awesome shots of my favourite meal and daily ritual.
Volunteering at the cat shelter every Saturday evening is a great joy in my life – there are always new munchies to meet, kitties of all ages who need love, and foul litter boxes that need cleaning. We constantly sterilize ourselves between cages and I have to completely strip outside the house afterwards at our washing machine before going inside for fear of transmitting feline diseases to our own kitsy, Gatsby. Most un-sultry reason to disrobe :p
We got our security finally upgraded, so now we can finally foster kittens again! 😀 😀 😀 We got FIVE little smushies today and will be getting FOUR more tomorrow! ❤ ❤ YAY! I just have to keep track of them all and their call signs and histories, all of which are rather dire. I bought them a tent and some fluffy blankets, because we plan to continue with fostering cats and it’s always good to have shiny materials on hand. The guy at the kids’ toy shop thought I was insane when I said I wanted a kitten-sized tent.
Dinner is always some variation of vegetable, but I managed to rock 1/4 of a vetkoek with lentil hummus, buffalo sauce and veggies at some point – SUCH an indulgence!
At some point we babysat my little brother (2) and sister (5). Whilst Man-thing attended to my brother I read my little sister a story and got her to snooze. Then Man-thing read me stories whilst we waited for the parents and I fell asleep. Moral: children = no energy!
Finally, even though I don’t actually have time between my job and sideline editing, I still keep a stack of books by the bed just in case, and manage a few pages a night of whichever one strikes me best. The top one is something I borrowed, and the Defoe and Allende are purely for nostalgia.
