29 days of rice – Life In Pictures Link Up – day 24 part 2

Hello again! This blog post is going to be a bit different, because I’m participating in a Life In Pictures Link Up (LIPLU) – less text, more shiny pics! I’m choosing a bunch of random photos from the weekΒ with some food thrown in here and there – your part is to guess what happened or just eyeball my life from a new pespective! Also, spot the rice! I decided to use my silly phone because it allowed for greater mobility to show off my life, so please excuse the quality.

For more info mosey over here and join in – it’s lots of fun πŸ˜€ Thanks Linda for the invite!

When we first moved in all we heard was croaking every night for hours, and now pure silence – I guess they liked our fountain and decided to leave a present before moving onto greener pastures.

Also, I know I’ve abused the edit function on my phone a lot, but I always find it hilarious when people add “mood filters” to mundane things like a bottle of water or whatever. Don’t hate ’em, join ’em!

As for the rice: rice paper rolls with roasted zucchini and eggplant strips, mashed spiced pumpkin, carrot sticks and peanut pow sauceΒ – see? Rice! πŸ˜‰ I had them for lunch today and howza – *really* stuffing stuff but flippin tasty. I’m going to make this for lunch a lot more often.

What do you usually pack for lunch at work?

  5. 1. are all these pictures from instagram, or does your phone just have spectacular filters?
    2. Did you buy plantains? You know, they’re great fried.
    4. Tadpoles in this weather? I’m afraid they may not live very long–the cold weather will freeze them.

I love your linkup. Thank you so much for coming to the party, you are a lot of fun. Hope to see you again on the 7th of November and feel free to bring some friends, since partying is always fun with big groups. #LIPlinkup

    • 1) πŸ˜€ I have the most hideous Nokia phone that I inherited, so these are some filters I got from Lomogram – the poor man’s instagram.

      2) Nope, those are all zucchini – I go through pretty much that in a week, if not less. I’ve never tried a plantain but I’m going to make it my mission to scout some out – I’ve heard the fried version is amazing, and the @purelytwins bloggers have some neat plantain recipes.

      3) :D:D

      4) I’m in the Southern Hemisphere so it’s nearly summer – but apparently we’ve been doing everything wrong since discovering them, like pouring tap water in there (they hate chlorine? 😦 ) – I’m 100% in love though so I’ll be boiling lettuce to feed them and building them a shady nest and everything.

Thank you for inviting me! I just got home so now I’m going to troll through everyone else’s links πŸ™‚

  6. Lovely photos! What a cool idea!

  7. Those are some gorgeous pictures, despite the cell phone quality πŸ™‚

Thanks for linking up with us!
